ABOUT JAMAL SAIDI
Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Jamal Saidi is an award-winning professional photographer and photojournalist whose life’s work has appeared in a wide range on the front covers of regional and international newspapers and magazines.
Since 1977, Jamal has photographed a wide variety of subjects, from conflict and current affairs to sports, fashion, culture and lifestyle. Having served for over 30 years at Reuters as Chief Photographer in the Levant region, his regional conflict coverage and archives include The Lebanese Civil War, Gulf War and the Iraq, amongst various historical moments that have shaped the Middle East and the world.
Jamal’s work has been exhibited at various regional and international exhibitions and photography galleries, such as Chicago Photography institute and The American University of Beirut. He is a published photographer with to internationally-sold books ‘‘Lebanon: Beauty Beyond Belief’’ and ‘‘Seasons of Lebanon’’. Jamal is currently based in Lebanon and often tours the region to conduct photography workshops and acts as a consultant for various NGO’ and governmental organizations.
